Job Profile

What will the job involve?

We now wish to appoint a part time Children and Families Leader to further develop our existing work with local schools and families.

The primary aims of the role are to:

• Work with and in the local primary schools

• Reach out to children in the wider community in a variety of different ways

• Work alongside other Children’s organisations in the area

• Partnering with parents and carers to develop children in their faith

• The age range covered by the Children’s and Families Worker will be 0 - 11 years

• Work alongside our Outreach and Development Leader to ensure a cohesive approach to all our ministry with children and young people and to support in new initiatives

This is a permanent role at £26,000 per annum, pro rata depending on experience and qualifications.

Person Profile

Who are we looking for?

It is essential that the person appointed has experience in faith-based Children’s work and is willing to commit to membership of our church.

There is a Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR) that the holder of this post is a Christian as this is a Christian Ministry post (Equality Act 2010 Part 1.)

This position involves a substantial access to children and young people and the post will be subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS.

It is essential the candidate demonstrates

 Good communication skills with children and adults in a variety of settings

 An understanding of, and commitment to, the needs of children and families, including those with additional needs

 Ability to lead a team

 Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative

 Ability to think outside the box and willingness to be flexible

Where will you be based?

Flexible: Office space is available in the church building and some homeworking is envisaged. The location is South Wye area of Hereford.

What is the time commitment?

Part - time, 22.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly including Sunday mornings and some evening and Saturday work. A term time only contract will be considered.
