Job Profile

What will the job involve?

To be a core part of King Street leadership team with the specific roles of undertaking evangelistic outreach to the families of Tiverton and developing & delivering in-house discipleship programmes for those who we connect with. The outreach is to all parts of the community, where we are looking for someone who is gifted in being able to quickly build relationships, creatively communicate the gospel and will complement & develop King Street Chapel’s existing programme of activities. You will be part of a larger teaching team and will be responsible for some in-house teaching. Work may well involve reaching out to broken relationships, people struggling with health, cost of living and addiction issues.

Person Profile

Who are we looking for?

Your age and formal qualifications are not important. We are looking for someone who is a mature Christian believer, with a heart for reaching out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Mid-Devon, is completely open to the Holy Spirit and is happy and (as a natural ‘people-person’) able to work un-critically with a variety of people in and around the setting of a small independent evangelical church - working within its core beliefs, policies, ethos and rules. You will experience God’s calling to this type of work in the Mid Devon area. We want someone who is open to an inter-denominational approach and good at working with others.

Where will you be based?

The chapel has a small admin office where you will be part of a small team working flexible hours. Work from home is also a possibility. Some meetings with other church leaders will occasionally involve travel within Devon.

What is the time commitment?

We are flexible to look at a variety of part time or full time scenarios. The work is flexible but likely to involve some week-time evenings and of course weekend commitments. We would ask you to commit to King St Chapel as being your regular place of worship.

When is this for?

We are looking to find the right person as soon as possible, with a six month probationary period. However if you think this would work for you, but only on a longer time period, we are happy to consider a delay.

What about accommodation?

King St chapel owns a property next door, which is currently commercially let. This might be a possible future part of a package.
